Lately

Well, as it’s been almost exactly one month since a post appeared on here (and that wasn’t even written by me), I felt like it was high time to, you know, write something. However, I am tired and my brain is subsequently frazzled so I will have to do so with the aid of pictures. Here’s what I’ve been doing.

Slovak pancake with cabbage and bacon

church of St Elisabeth Bratislava

Wien, Österreich

Modrofuz Bratislava

Cafe Verne Bratislava

KC Dunaj

In a nutshell, I’ve been eating delicious things, admiring the blue church, going for a day trip to Vienna, cycling*, going out for coffee and cake so often that I’m surprised I haven’t turned into a cup of coffee and a slice of cake, and going out for the occasional boogie.

I have obviously also been working, which is great, though I’m not sure how much I’m able to (or want to) share here. All I will say is that I’m really enjoying it.

I hope everyone reading this is well and I also hope that one day soon I will find the will to write something of actual content.

* Just the once, mind you. Despite having not ridden a bike in Idon’tevenknowhowlong, when the opportunity to get a free bike for the day presented itself, I agreed. Then on the fateful day, I woke up with a sore head after approximately three hours of sleep (yeah, the beer here is ridiculously cheap) and began regretting the whole chain of events leading up to that moment. Against all my better judgement, off I went cycling and discovered that a) you really don’t forget how to ride a bike, and b) hangovers subside sooner if you get out of bed and go do something. The bike was uncomfortable and there were two near-miss wobbles which saw me nearly falling into a skip and onto the bonnet of a car respectively, but other than that it was lovely. And that is the thrilling story of how I might actually like riding a bike after all that.
